About us – what do we do?
- We organise events such as Heritage Weekend and the Bank Holiday Walks programmes
- We run “Unit 24” – a Community space in the town centre available for other groups to use for their activities
- We work with local councils and with other community groups to improve the civic life and vitality of the town
- We use social media and occasional articles in the Abingdon Herald to raise public awareness of issues affecting the town
- We listen to concerns raised – such as about Old Abbey House and the Upper Reaches – and campaign on issues of public interest
- We monitor planning applications and larger-scale development plans and comment as appropriate
- We monitor Conservation areas and work with Councils to protect them
