Archive Database – Show Everything View
The Archive contains digitised items relating to Abingdon. Each item has two parts: (a) the item itself, e.g., image, PDF, etc., and (b) a “card index” file containing all the information we have on the item. The card index includes a clickable preview button and (for images) a thumbnail picture. Items can be viewed in a flat alphabetical layout (below) or in its native Folder View – click this link to us it. These are your options for the “Show Everything” table below:
To open an individual item: click its icon in the Link column, and it will open in a new window – from where you can save a copy.
To open more than one item: click their check-boxes in the Link column, then click the Download Selected Documents button above the table. This puts the selected items in a ZIP file in your device’s Downloads folder.
To view an item’s “card index” file: click the item name in the Title column. A left-click opens it in the same window and a right-click gives you the option of opening it in a new window.
To filter the list by Author, Tag or Category: either click one of the item’s Author, Tag or Category values in the table, or use one of the three drop-down boxes above the table. To return to the unfiltered list, click the Reset button to the right of the drop-down boxes.
To search the Titles and Contents of the entire Archive: use the Search box. Matches will be listed, and a Search Reset link will appear allowing you to return to where you were.
