Unit 25 Community Space

Thanks to the generosity of Gentian Sunnyday, the Bury Street Shopping Centre landlords, and Abingdon Town Council, the Friends of Abingdon are able to offer a town centre community space for voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations to use.
“Unit 25” is a lovely space in the former Gift Centre. We have had it – and its predecessor, Unit 24 – since September 2023 and they have been very popular, with uses including Heritage Open Days exhibitions, Carbon Cutters’ monthly repair workshops, PCSOs drop-in sessions, VWHDC “Active Communities” exercise sessions, Art and Woodcarving exhibitions, Book Exchanges, educational sessions, community groups’ meetings and many more.
The space is big enough for more than one group to be in there at once, which makes it much more lively and benefits everyone. We see this unit as core to our aim to promote community spirit and civic pride in our growing town.
We have to cover running costs so depending on the event we may ask for a donation.
If you would like to know more, or maybe use it for one of the activities you are involved with, please contact us via email.
