The Civic Society’s petition, launched on Friday morning has very nearly reached 1000 signatures by Sunday night. This is not a surprise, since we knew how many people feel strongly about it, but it is great to have this evidence. We hope that many more Abingdon people will sign – and make comments – in the coming days so that we know we have widespread backing when talking to the Vale or Contemporary Hotels.
